After the untimely death of Marcello Gabana, family members and partners decided to remember the entrepreneur figure in a concrete way, turning a tragedy into anopportunity to do good. For this reason, on 9 June 2011, the Marcello Gabana Fund was set up within the Fondazione della Comunità Bresciana.

The fund aims at supporting the most varied needs of the province of Brescia, paying particular attention to social, cultural, artistic and scientific development and growth.

Among the main initiatives, we wish to mention the one that - in synergy with the Cavagna family and with several other benefactors - on 7 November 2015 allowed inaugurating the new nucleus of the Calcinato nursing home, bringing the total number of beds to 103, with new and modern spaces equipped to improve the quality of life of the guests.

In 2016, instead, the Fund named after the entrepreneur financed the purchase of an ultrasound unit (model MyLab-Seven, total value 68 thousand euro) which was donated to the Hospital of Montichiari.
